The Coastal Moorlands
To the east of Meldorf you find a totally different land form: the primeval coastal moor lands, softly rolling land, very often divided by trees and hedges, called hedgerows, running through by moors. Here you find ideal conditions for farm holidays. Many farms offer horse riding too.
A trip by carriage through the country is a great pleasure. Revealed bike paths invite you to make long and varied trips, and on your way the old farmhouses with their typical flower gardens and the old fruit trees greet you. In the villages of the coastal moorlands Bargenstedt, Gudendorf, Krumstedt, Nindorf, Odderade, Sarzbüttel, Windbergen and Wolmersdorf which are all rich in tradition you are always a very welcome guest. The rural atmosphere of these villages not only results from their poultry and vegetable stalls on the road but also from their solid meals in the village restaurants.
